Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that the collision repair process can be confusing and stressful. Below you will find answers to the questions we hear most often from our customers in the Lehigh Valley. If you do not see your question here, please do not hesitate to call us at (610) 433-3212.
Insurance & Claims
Navigating insurance after an accident is one of the most common concerns our customers have. These answers address your rights, the claims process, and what to expect from your coverage.
Can my insurance company tell me where to take my vehicle?
In the state of Pennsylvania it is ILLEGAL for the insurance company to tell you where to take your vehicle to be repaired. You have the right to choose any repair facility you want. This is your vehicle, and the choice of where it is repaired is entirely yours to make.
What about the warranty on my repairs?
Reliable Auto Body provides a lifetime guarantee on all collision repairs. Our warranty is equal to or better than any stated warranty offered by insurance companies. We stand behind every repair we perform for as long as you own your vehicle.
Do I need to get multiple estimates?
No. You are only required to obtain one estimate before choosing a repair facility. While some insurance companies may suggest otherwise, Pennsylvania law does not require multiple estimates.
How do I start an insurance claim?
Contact your chosen body shop, your insurance agent, or call the number on your insurance card to initiate the claims process. Our team at Reliable Auto Body can help guide you through every step from start to finish.
Can I get a rental car while my vehicle is being repaired?
Yes, we can assist in arranging alternate transportation during repairs, including direct billing with your insurance company. We work with all major rental car providers to make the process as seamless as possible.
What happens if my vehicle is a total loss?
When repair costs exceed the vehicle's value, the insurance company will offer a settlement. You must clear personal items and transfer the title. If you disagree with the valuation, you have the right to negotiate with your insurance company.
What about aftermarket or used parts?
Most insurance policies allow the use of used (LKQ) and aftermarket parts. If you prefer OEM-only parts, discuss this with your insurance agent beforehand. We are happy to work with you and your insurance company to ensure you are satisfied with the parts used in your repair.
What's the difference between comprehensive and collision coverage?
Collision coverage covers at-fault accidents and collisions with objects. Comprehensive coverage covers vandalism, fire, wildlife strikes, hail, theft, and other non-collision damage. Check your policy to understand which coverages you carry.
Repairs & Services
From paint care to payment options and towing, here is what you need to know about the repair process at Reliable Auto Body.
When do I pay my deductible?
You pay your deductible directly to the body shop upon completion of repairs. We accept payment when you pick up your finished vehicle.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Personal Checks, Cash, Discover, Visa, and Mastercard for payment of deductibles and other charges.
How should I care for fresh paint?
Avoid automated car washes — hand washing is fine and recommended. Wait 90 days before waxing newly painted areas to allow the finish to fully cure. Following these simple steps helps ensure a long-lasting, beautiful finish.
How do you match my vehicle's paint color?
We use Chromavision camera technology and the Axalta Cromax waterborne paint system with computer analysis to match your vehicle's current paint condition precisely. This advanced system accounts for fading and wear, ensuring a seamless color match every time.
How long will repairs take?
Repair duration depends on the extent of damage, parts availability, and the complexity of the work required. Discuss your specific timeline with your repair advisor when you bring in your vehicle, and we will provide an honest, realistic estimate.
Do you offer towing services?
Yes, we partner with local towing companies for 24-hour service. Contact AHR Towing at (484) 239-2550, Yocum Towing at (610) 398-8002, or #1 Service Center at (610) 432-7044. Let them know your vehicle should be towed to Reliable Auto Body.

Can I get an estimate without visiting the shop?
Yes! Email photos of your vehicle and damage to george@reliableautobody.com with "Estimate" as the subject.
